3. Grounding techniques are very useful in helping with some of symptoms of PTSD. Pick a couple of them to practice. It takes time but with practice you will notice that you are able to stay present more often.
Breathe4. Breathing is an important tool that can be used to relax us and help us stay present in the moment so we can respond to whatever is happening in a healthy way. Sounds easy to say "just breath" but it's more difficult than it sounds. Here is a website meant to help adults teach kids how to Square Breathe. Square breathing is helpful but takes practice. The website has some great ideas on practicing square breathing in a very practical and visual way.

Meditation
5. Meditations like these can be very helpful to increase relaxation, It is important to find the ones that work best for you. Keep trying them out till you find the ones that sooth you most then practice them. Again it takes practice. You'll find that in the beginning it will be very difficult and you'll find that your mind wanders often. It is important to keep bringing your thoughts back to the meditation without judging them. Keep practicing and you will find that eventually it will become easier overtime.

Dissociation: A survival technique
6. Here is some information on Dissociation. Dissociation is a common symptom for people who have experienced traumatic events. It was a survival technique, helping people reduce the distress caused by the traumatic event(s).
